Woman breastfeeding her two babies.

Heather, from Flickr staff, just confirmed that "Photos of women breastfeeding their children are considered "safe" content on Flickr." (of course, as long as there is no other "unsafe" content in the photo). See her comment here: flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/81345/page2/#reply516951. Not sure if it is considered safe on other Yahoo websites.

I tried to ask google adsense if content related to "mothers nursing their children" was allowed by their policy, but they did not answer me.

It seems that facebook too is censoring breastfeeding photos, causing many women to complain. See the press articles about Facebook and Breastfeeding photos on Google News.

Breastfeeding is complete at 2 years, it's in the holy Quran.

i think all you people who DISLIKE the picture or DISAGREE with it should just keep you mouths shut :D I nursed my firstborn for 18 months till he self weaned and i am nursing 11 month twins. I will stop nursing when they are ready to stop. I will not stop for my own selfish reasons such as they have teeth, they can talk, they can lift up my shirt and latch on...my boys can do that now. Get over your selfish reasons and continue to nurse your kids for as long as possible. They do self wean when they are ready.

This is WONDERFUL! I agree 100% that extended breastfeeding is amazing. My baby is 18m and yes I still breastfeed. Even the American Pediatrics now suggest BF until 2yrs of age. There are amazing benefits to this. My child has yet to be sick. Never not one single day. For all the ignorant people do your research and shut up! Stop being so friggin ignorant! Just like years ago women did not breastfeed cause it wasnt "classy" and only acceptable for ones that could not afford formula. Its stupid! Which is why so many in the medical community and other countries promote extended breastfeeding. Catch up!

I think this is a wonderful picture. She is obviously happy and confident about her motherly duties. I'm glad she puts her kids' health before anyone's criticism or idiotic comments. Good Parenting.

iReading some of these comments makes me laugh --or want to leave the country (Americans are so stupid --clearly just say things they believe with no scientific evidence to back up statements). The research on full-term (or "extended" breastfeeding) overwhelmingly shows the health and emotional benefits toddlers and older children derrive from nursing. The notion a child should not breast feed if they can talk is utterly stupid. The WHO (that stands for World Health Organization) recommends breastfeeding for a MINIMUM of two years. My twins were able to ask to nurse at 13 months so clearly the ability to speak should not be a factor for stopping breastfeeding. There is also a TON of research on the benefit of tandem breastfeeding siblings --the greater harm to the boy on the right would be for the mother to deny him the breast because his younger brother has taken his spot. Lots of research on how tandem feeding reduces the anxiety and rejection a toddler often feels when a new baby enters the house. Ever meet an breatfed 8 year-old? I've only met two and they were the coolest, most well-adjusted kids I have ever converesed with --and I have worked with a LOT of 8 year-olds. Oh, and I pity the sickos who can only associate sex with breasts --they probably had demented parents or have very low education and IQs. A mother and a nursing child (no matter how old) are not contemplating anything sexual (I am not saying there is no sick women out there, maybe there are some out there w/demented intentions for nursing, but it would be an exception). I am just so glad I had access to excellent health care providers, a supportive and educated husband/family and tons of literature and research which informed me on the benefits of breastfeeding post-12 months. My twins are 3.5 years old and my daughter nurses almost every morning and she nurses tandem with her brother before bedtime while holding his hand. I am very pleased with the young people my twins are evolving into and get a lot of feedback on how compassionate, sweet and polite they are and how "smart" and curious they are (did you know breastfed children have higher IQs? --not that intelligence is everything, but it ranks up there in my book). I commend this mother for the healthy attitude she has about her own body and commitment she has to nursing. Hopefully more education breastfeeding will make its way into school curricula (I teach at a prestigious private boarding school for high school students. Students used to attend four years here with out a word mentioned to them about the benefits of breastfeeding (for child and mother). But that's changed now --once I showed the evidence to the wellness director regarding breastfeeding he integrated breastfeeding information and a small (but better-than-nothing) unit on child development into the wellness curriculum. Yay for education and research --and for happy and healthy breastfeeding children.

oh and I am American yet I agree with you, so dont categorize us.
jw_bunny99
its quite common to say that. I am an american but i know americans that "categorize" other people based on their countries
