shop selling herbal mehndi (delhi)

Shop selling green bags of herbal Mehndi paste (Delhi).

Mehndi (henna paste) is applied on the skin using cone shaped paper containers pierced at the tip end, and that are slowly squeezed to get the henna paste out.

The large decorated cones on the bags are just to tell people that this is a Mehndi store. The real small cones are in a box, on the left.

Mehndi is made with Henna, a natural dye extracted from a plant.

Photos taken in India in 2013

The highlight if this trip was the Maha Kumba Mela Hindu Festival, the largest human gathering on earth, which happens once every 12 years.

Other regions visited include the springs of the Ganges river, Varanasi, the Konark sun temple.

See also my photos of Nepal that I took the same year.

These are photos that i took in the streets of Delhi (India)

It gives an idea of the organized chaos in the bazaars of the old city.

Those photos are only from Delhi. I have many more interesting photos from other parts of India.
