This is Surya Kund, the sacred hot springs of Yamunotri (India)
The hot water from the Yamunotri geothermal springs is captured here, near the Yamunotri temple, and it fills up several pools where pilgrims can bathe.
Photos taken in India in 2013
The highlight if this trip was the Maha Kumba Mela Hindu Festival, the largest human gathering on earth, which happens once every 12 years.
Other regions visited include the springs of the Ganges river, Varanasi, the Konark sun temple.

Photos taken at Yamunotri and on the Yamunotri trail (India)
The Yamuna is the largest tributary river of the Ganges. It meets the Ganges at the Sangam near Allahabad, site of the largest human gathering on Earth, the Hindu Kumbh Mela festival.
High in the Yamuna valley, Yamunotri is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination.
