Ajanta Caves (India)

Unfortunately the new lighting in the cases is awful, made with mixed light sources of different types and colors (neon, halogen, and incandescent), making it impossible to take good photos. Of course, flash photography is not allowed because it could damage the precious paintings.

Ajanta Caves (India) are rock-cut cave monuments dating from the second century BC.

The caves contain paintings and sculpture considered to be masterpieces of both "Buddhist religious art" and "universal pictorial art".

Personally I was more impressed by the nearby Ellora Caves.
