Sign showing the indigenous communities near Iruya (Argentina).­ Those communities can only be reached by foot or by horse, and the trip can take the entire day.­

Trail between Iruya and San Isidro.­

The village of San Isidro can only be reached by foot or by horse (about 8Km from Iruya).­ When the river is low and the weather is good, it is a very nice and easy day hike with beautiful landscapes.­

Iruya is a beautiful but very remote village in Northern Argentina.­ The dirt road that reaches the village is about 50Km long.­ It fords several rivers and goes over a 4000 meter pass.­ Iruya is reachable daily by local bus from Humahuaca (unless rain makes the road impassable).­
