F-market line historical tram car 1010 - san francisco

A historical F-Market line streetcar is used as a test train on the newly installed diamond crossing track section.

This car is painted in tribute to the 'Magic Carpets', as San Francisco's first five modern-design streetcars, introduced in the 1940s, were known.

The 1010 was built in 1948 and fully restored for the opening of the F-line in 1995. For more info about this streetcar, go to www.streetcar.org/streetcars/1010/.

Photos of railroad workers replacing a Muni light rail track section on Duboce street, Church street and Market street (San Francisco).

Each section of track work, such as replacement of the double diamond crossing structure at Church st and Market st, takes 2 or 3 days with crews working 24h during week-ends.

The work was realized by local contractor NTK Construction.

I must thank NTK management and crew for letting me shoot those amazing photos on their construction site.
