Snake wine (Vietnam)
The snake in the jar is a King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah). Ironically, this species feeds principally upon other snakes - Ophiophagus means 'eater of snakes'.
Photos of "Snake Wine" bottles (in Vietnamese: rượu rắn) containing snakes (often Cobra) and various other animals (lizards, centipeded, scorpions etc). I took those photos in Vietnam and Laos.
Snake wine is an alcoholic beverage that includes a whole snake in the bottle.
It is also prepared using other criters, preferably venimous, e.g. Scorpions, centipedes, geckos, wasps, and I have even seen one made with black birds.
Snake Wine is a specialty of Vietnam and Laos.
