This small series is part of my Vietnam photo album.

You can also check these smaller selections of photos on selected subjects:

- Markets of Vietnam.

- Tiết canh (raw blood soup).

- Road construction in Vietnam.

- Spaying a piglet.

- A photo-documentary about eating dog meat for dinner: "Thịt chó" means eating a (hot) dog - literally). But be advised that those are very GRAPHIC photos and not advised for children.

Thank you for this collection. I was in this area for a week in 2011. This area has only been open to the outside world for about 10-15 years now. Most of these peoples (except Thai/Tai) were chased south into the mountains during the turmoil of the Taiping Rebellion in the mid 19th century and have been isolated since due to the political situation and geography in Indochina. It will only be a few short years before this area is assimilated into the rest of the world and becomes the same as everywhere else.
Great photos and beautiful people! I appreciate the fact that they have kept their culture intact unlike many others of the world. It would be an honor to live/learn among these folks. Thanks for your contributions mon....Peace..."Dee
