Living root bridge near Mawlynnong in the East Khasi Hills, in Meghalaya (India)

Bamboo sticks have been placed to "train" young Banyan tree roots into improving the strength of the bridge, making it wider and making some side railing. The new roots are wrapping around the bamboos and will eventually connect, merge and grow stronger.
