Hindu pilgrims heading back home with their luggage, at the Kumbh Mela 2013 festival near Allahabad (India).

With their tired and somber expressions, they look like refugees or displaced population, but no, those are just pilgrims (yatris) returning home, which is probably very a long and very uncomfortable train or bus journey.

Kumbh Mela is the largest festival on Earth, taking place once every 12 years, with more than 50 million Hindu pilgrims gathering to pray and bathe in the holy Ganges river.
