Orangutan getting a free lunch at the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary (Borneo)

It's a bit like a zoo, but without the fences... Sadly this patch of rain forest where the big apes can survive has shrunk to about 7 miles by 7 miles (10 Km by 10 Km), due to deforestation for developing oil-palm plantations. Now they call this small isolated patch of forest "Orang Utan Sanctuary" and it is a protected area and a park open to tourism.

A lot of the revenues of the parks are from tourists who pay a fee to see the big apes having a free lunch on a platform where park staff drops bananas and other fruits twice a day.
