cutting through fallen redwood tree trunks

The trail passes through many fallen redwood trees. Trunks have been cut-off by the forest service, otherwise it would be quite hard to cross over those huge trunks.

Redwood trees often fall naturally, when they grow so high and so heavy that their roots are not able of supporting them, or the ground is not stable enough.
