Italian Alpini (elite mountain infantry) training in the Dolomites Mountains. They just spent several days in the very rugged mountains, training with ropes (rappelling) and carrying very heavy backpacks and military assault weapons.

The Alpini are currently involved in the mountainous regions of Afganistan (as of 2012).
