High pressure fire hydrant (San Francisco)

Thiose hydrants are part of the AWSS, the San Francisco Fire Department "Auxiliary Water Supply System", developed after the big 1906 Fire. The AWSS is separate from the drinking water supply of the city, and if needed, it can be fed by sea water from the bay.
