Old Monument in Indian Village

I suppose this monument is an old Hindu shrine, but it could also be an old Muslim tomb or a cenotaph.

There was another similar monument in the village.

Like in most villages in India, there is no sanitation or sewage. Streams of dirty water full of trash run through the streets towards dump ponds. Plastic trash accumulates, since it does not turn into compost.

This photo is part of a series that I took in a small rural Indian village.
