Spotted this "1 ST NW" street sign in Darwin, an interesting "Ghost Town" in the desert, near Death Valley (Califoirnia)

It seems to be a local tradition to attach teakettles to road signs in this area.

There are still about 45 people living in this old mining town, including a couple of colorful French nationals.

Darwin is a ghost town that is still inhabited by a few artists and people who enjoy solitude in this remote desert community which is probably the last place in the US with only 28.8K internet access via modem!
