High in the Yamuna valley, Yamunotri is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination (India)
Yamunotri consists of a Hindu Temple and a few guest houses where pilgrims can stay, and pools filled by a sacred hot springs, where pilgrims can bathe. Yamunotri is one of the four sites of the Chhota Char Dham Hindu pilgrimage.
The Yamuna is the largest tributary river of the Ganges. It meets the Ganges at the Sangam near Allahabad, site of the largest human gathering on Earth, the Hindu Kumbh Mela festival.
